Let’s face it. Everyone needs PR. Whether it’s your start-up company, a new product, an idea or yourself… everyone can benefit from good public relations. PR professionals are in demand and as the trend grows, more opportunities appear. But a random job in PR isn’t what I’m looking for. I’ll explain…
I want to like my job. I want to like what I talk, think and read about daily. That way, I know I’ll feel a deeper sense of pride and accomplishment when I see my company or client reach new success. Too many people say, “work isn’t supposed to be fun.” Why can’t it be? Why can’t you like what you do? In my short experience of job and soul searching, I’ve found that it is more than possible to love what you do, or rather… do what you love.
So my advice is this: Determine your favorite hobby, past time or passion. Then use the skills you already have (or are working on) to get involved in that industry. That’s what I’ve done so far and what I continue to do everyday. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
